Default Honey, have you seen my Wacker?

Got your attention didn’t it. My first Heribert Wacker arrived. It is a 7/8 Spanish point in blond buffalo horn with gold wash on the blade. I was ready to rescale the blade. I have a set of cocobolo ready to drop it in, but the horn looks darn good. There is a lot of nice graining in this set, more multi color than just blond, so it will stay as is.

But onto my question. I have not had a blade with gold wash on it before. How do I care for the gold? I don’t want to accidentally polish it off cleaning the blade. I gave it a good wipe with MAAS working around the wash then gave it two coats of carnauba wax. I wax all my carbon blades, it helps to keep them from tarnishing.
