Thanked: 1Obsessed with razors
OK so I am pretty new on this site only been a member for about a week and only bought my first blade two weeks ago. However, I can tell you that I am officially obsessed wiht razors. I told you that I only bought my first razor two weeks ago, I know have three on hand, one to be delivered tomorrow (was supposed to be today but its late), and 15 coming next week, and one blade with no scales on the way. Not to mention the 5 honing stones I bought, two strops, and brush mug and soap. Yeah I have been doing some ebaying.
Not only that but I have spent every night doing nothing but looking for razors and looking at websites for shoving accessories. There is so much stuff out there that I want and yet there does not seem to be enough to look at. I think I have viewed everything on the internet that has to do with straight razor shaving and the other night when I was looking I got that notice that I reached the end of the internet. Ok so thats an exageration... no seriously though I think I got to the end. I have read almost every thread on straight razor place from the last month plus many more on other sites.
Do I have a serious problem or is this natural?

I recognize this. SInce I have more razors now than I have time to get them shave ready I stopped looling. I am only still waiting for a Livi regrind, the B&B le Grelot and will soon purchase an Iwasaki. Som much for RAD.

Welcome to the wonderful world of AD's (Aquisition Disorders). Straight shaving seems to have more varieties of AD than any other!
Your thirst and quest for knowledge is also (sorry to report) NORMAL!
Though you do seem to be very thourough, especially in reaching "The End Of The Internet".
Always remember with AD's - YANA (You Are Not Alone).

Ahhh... this all sounds very familiar. Too familiar! Yes, you are normal... in an abnormal sort of way. And, you have lots of company here so you will never be lonely!

Thanked: 1Well its good to know I am not alone. Now if hte rest of my razors would just show up I could get a good look at exactly what I have and continue my search for more.

And it only gets worse. Four years, 100+ razors, a dozen strops and 8 brushes and I'm still adding, and mines a mild case of RAD.
Welcome to the club.

Yes Saylor and Limit you have a problem, but there is a cure.
Just find a local Narcotics Anonymous meeting and go to it.
When the recovering junkies tell their stories about turning out their wives/gfs or prostituting themselves to buy heroin; in your own mind replace "heroin" with "straight razors."
Scared straight. Boom. Problem solved.
