I don't know I think the Dovo is more beautiful, but I guess you meant it looks like a better razor.
Btw, anyone know if the plastic handle vs the genuine ebony makes a difference?

no, a handle is just that - a handle. it's up to what you prefer to have. plastic is fine.
i meant the handle etc, diff look than the norm rounded scales.
I used to think the handle was important. I guess to a certain extent it still is but to me what the blade looks like is now more important. Scales (handles) have different properties. Some materials can discolour over time, some can warp, some can splinter or the paintwork chip etc. It all depends on the care you take over your razor.
The handle material makes very little difference except from a personal taste perspective.
If you are interested in getting an entry level razor at a reasonable price, there are a couple of members on the site that provide shave-ready razors. Kenrup has some Double Arrows and Wapi's. Both are nice shavers.
Well then, I think I'll go with the first one, the one made in Thiers. Unless anyone want's to mess up my mind in the last minute.
I want to thank you all for your help in choosing my first straight razor.:tu
I just got my very first straight razor today WOHOOO!!:y
It's a Le Greoff 6/8 and it's Very Nice as Borat would put it.
Now I just have to get it honed I guess.
Ps. There's some protective oil on it, should i wipe it of before use or what? And should I apply oil on it later, after I start using it? If so what kind of oil?
yeah wipe it off, you wouldn't need to put oil on it unless you are going to leave it unused for a while.
he means unused as in over a month I reckon.
