Does anyone have any information on Scottish straight razors.
I recently observed one, a 6/8 hollowground with Mcpherson Bros. on the shank.
Any information would be appreciated.

I only own one scottish razor but its a beauty, have it on display at my workplace right now but i will definately get a pic of it and post it.

Depends on what you term a Scottish razor. I don't think any were ever forged and ground in Scotland (and do correct me if I'm wrong) though I do have several that were obviously made for Scottish retailers, particularly in Glasgow, by Sheffield makers.
One of mine I just came across was William Landell, Glasgow - not much more info than that though I'm afraid!
I also own a Landell - actually on my restoration bench but I don't have more info on her...
I just picked up a McPhearson at a local antiques place. Said made in Germany on it also.
Got the camera to work, pics attached.
They should be the box (albeit with a couple of Kropps in) and a the razor.
It's world famous apparently - and probably going to be my first restore project.
Sorry no hard info though.
Cheers,
DK
The razor I saw was almost identical to the one you pictured.
Plan to go back and buy it tomorrow.
Thanks for your help.

I've recently come across a William Landell razor from some of my fathers stuff. Most likely his fathers.
Anyway, says William Landell, 106 Trongate, Glasgow with Silvan on the blade. Any info would be appreciated.
