Regrinds?

Outside of factory regrinds and those done by various members of this forum, I was wondering what everyone's experience with razors that had been reground was. Obviously there is going to be a huge difference in experience between individual jobs, but I'm just curious to know if anyone has found a DIY job that was serviceable, or whether attempts at regrinding by previous owners just lead to more work later down the line.

Sorry should have been clearer. By more work I mean could the razor be honed and go straight to shave worthy or whether extensive reworking would need to be done to off-set any damage caused by a home regrind job. We've all seen terrible razors on ebay which have suffered indignities due to improper honing, i'e frowns, the blade getting narrower from heel to tip and uneven spine wear; or various attempts at restoration i.e, gouge marks caused by excessive sanding and the like. Just trying to see if anyone thought that a competent regrind was within the grasp of the home user from days gone by, or whether a razor that had been done would have the usual list of maladies like excessive and uneven spine wear as well as other issues caused by a regrind like an uneven grind.
Like I said in my first post I know there will be a vast range of answers to this question, but I would like to know whether anyone has a razor that has been reground, but doesn't have any additional problems caused by the work.

I posted some pics of this blade up in the Stubtail Shavers club. I'm quite certain that it was reground (pretty sure there were no hollow ground razors when she was made). I have no idea who did the regrinding. Despite grind marks on the blade, I'd say the regrind was very well done. The point is stylized like a W&B Bow, she was extremely easy to hone, and she took a wicked edge.

I was a little surprised that she didn't cost me more than she did. But I guess it was a pretty clear regrind, which might throw off collectors, and the second T is missing, so finding information might have been tough.

I don't know how others do it, but when I restore a blade, the honing is included.
I.e. someone sends me a razor that needs restoration, and he gets a fully functional razor back that is shaveready.
I don't do restoration without honing because then I don't know if the razor is good or not.
