When shopping at antique stores...

Always ask to see what's in the box!

I went to an antique store up in Maine, and asked if he had any straights. "Yup...."

He pulls out a handfull of venerable razors in various states of decay and deposits them on the counter in a heap...

Nada.

I bend down and take a peek into the display case. "Is there a razor in that box?" I querry.

"Yup..."

And violla! A pretty nice Joseph Allen NON XLL, with minimal hone wear, and not much corosion, just some tarnishing for the most part. An easy restore.

A little elbow grease, a new set of scales, and here she is:
