Default Wade & Butcher for Gentlemens use

Hi. I have a Wade and Butcher straight razor that does not say SHEFFIELD or have any service marks but it only says:

    M A N U F A C T U R E D B Y
    W A D E & B U T C H E R
    F O R G E N T L E M E N S U S E

It has a black bone or ebony handle. i was reading somewhere that it may be pre-1830. Can anyone shed light on this razor?

If a razor, or whatever, doesn't have the country of origin stamped on it then it is pre 1881 or thereabouts. Around that time either by USA law or treaty all goods imported into the USA had to have the country of origin stamped or etched on them.

Thanks for everyone's help. I went ahead and listed it on eBay. I don't know whether I'm allowed to post a link or not so I'll just post the title. Search for 19th Cent. Wade & Butcher straight razor & box, iif you're interested.

I have one with a similar blade. Also I just missed a great buy on a Wade and Butcher chopper, it went for under $10. Always a dollar short and a day late.

Cool, it ought to make a good shaver.
