    Default Dovo Silver Steel

I just purchased a Dovo Silver Steel razor. It has ebony scales and gold plating on the spine and one side of the blade. I'd review the razor, but I'm too much of a noob. I shaved for the first time with this razor this morning and lived to tell the tale.
My question concerns the "Silver Steel." I've tried to find out what this is actually made of. Wikipedia states that it is a steel of a certain carbon content, although doesn't compare it to the carbon content in other carbon steel.
Can anyone explain to me what properties I can expect from a "Silver Steel" blade? Is it just carbon steel with a fancy name?

Silver Steel was invented by (so most sources say) Michael Faraday. The Dovo Prima Silver Steel blade is indeed silver steel, a term that has come to encompass most high-carbon steel used in razor making. Don't worry about it, just get on and shave with it!
