Thanked: 1Help with four vintage razors
Hello gents,
I have recently become interested in SR shaving, and have been looking for some older razors to experiment with. I have been searching local antique shops with no success. This past Saturday, my luck changed, and I found a local shop with quite a few in stock. I was hoping to find some additional information on these razors, so if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated. I will try and post pictures later today.
1. 30 SHUMATE (on left), Shumate Razor Co. St Louis USA (on right).
2. The Torrey Razor Co. Worcester, MASS USA (on left).
3. North American Razor Co. USA (on left).
4. Henckels symbol (the twin thing), and "Vacuum" (on left), J.A. Henckels Twin Works Solingen-Germany (right).
The Henckels came in a vintage box marked- The Jackson Shear & Razor Co Fremont, O. Hollow Ground Set Ready for Use Price $2-00
I am primarily interested in the origin of the first three- are they domestic or imported?
As far as the Henckels goes, I am wondering if the box it came in is the original box, or did someone just throw it in there? The Henckels has been cleaned up (not by me) and shaves hair off my arm, but the others are in need of restoration. Any information regarding age, country of origin, quality or lack thereof, and ballpark value would be greatly appreciated.
