Help identifying

I'm having difficulty finding a timeframe the Bow was made. Would you have any idea?

If it only has SHEFFIELD stamped under name it is pre 1890. If no W & B marking at all still pre 1890.

Not sure if it speaks to your question exactly but he gives a lot of history. He's a member here also.
As bouschie said if there is no country of origin then it is made before the McKinley Tariff of 1891 after that all imports had to have the country so if it says Sheffield but not England then it's made before that. Hard to see much detail from the picture but it appears to be late 19th century- early 20th from the style. That's a great razor. Wade and Butcher from that period is one of if not my favorite maker. You are fortunate to have been gifted that if it is in good condition.

Thanks for the great info guys! It looks like the Bow stamp is all that's there (or left). From what I'm noticing, it looks like someone added some crude knurls to the top and underside of the shank as well... But I guess it can just be seen as part of this razor's history. I may eventually try my hand at switching out the scales if I can decide which route I want to go.

Being new we will cut ya some slack. Lol. The begginnerz area will help you with proper words to use.
The TANG has JIMPS top and bottom. A lot or razors have these but not always on top and bottom. Now if they look hand done that would be a hard thing to do on hardened steel. But i guess its possible. They do look a little rough! Its a good razor. Send it off and have it fixed up so you can shave with it. Wade and Butcher is one of the greats.

Looks like the scales have been replaced. I don't think the bow razor ever had wood scales from the factory. That would have either been celluloid or horn originally wouldn't you think Jerry?

those jimps do look very rough. Can't see a shoulder either. I wonder if that's been re-ground. It's hard to see in that photo. Maybe that's just the lighting. Hat ch, if you can take some closer images of the blade, the tang and the tail on both sides.
