Hi All,

I'm new here and have been shaving with my Wapienica for a couple of months. Since then, I got a bit more into this hobby. I got 2 more Wapi blades and a Hutch Cutlery from South Milwaukee (a nice 6/8 barber's notch) with a smile. After I broke the scales trying to remove them, I salvaged them and put them on one of my Wapi blades. I am almost done making a nice cocobolo scales for the Hutch and I started restoring a nice large Wade & Butcher blade (with horn scales). This one will be tricky because there was a chip through the first 3/8 of the edge.

As you can see, I like to tinker.

This lengthy prelude leads me to my question. Ultimately I would like to end up with two, maybe 3 razors (a main one and a couple of back ups). The main one, I think would like it to be a large blade (maybe " or 7/8") and a square, spanish point or barber's notch. I would like to eventually pass it to my son. Do you think I should go for a brand new one or get a vintage one and get it restored? I'd like to get something classic, timeless and understated. I'd also like to keep it around $150 to $200 and most importantly, it needs to be an awesome shaver.

What would you suggest?
Thanks for reading and your advice.

Cheers,

Rafal
