Would it be Edwin Stammers ? Any better guess ?
Hi folks !
just acquired a vintage blade, and the tang is not that legible so I wondered if any of you could be of help.
Regarding the shape of the blade and the tang, I suppose it should be a circa 1820 British blade.
I am not a specialist of British cutlers and associated directories, so my best guess, using a 1818 directory of which I can't guarantee the exactitude, I would say Edwin Stammers, whose cutlery shop was at Strand 99.
If anyone is able to confirm, correct me, or give more information, that would be much appreciated.
