What kind of spine is this?
Hey all -
Just bought a couple of lots of razors on eBay. Some really nice blades and custom scales... it was like an early Christmas opening these up!
One in particular has really caught my eye. Can anyone tell me more about this razor's spine?
Here's another shot:
Anyone know more about this type of razor?
Thanks!

Thanked: 41I'm relatively new at this but I thought that would be called a "frameback"

Thanks!
Good to know. That's the most engaging razor out of the 15 I won. Last out of the box, most interesting configuration and sharpest too. Going to hone & strop it up and try him out next week!
Thanks again,
Kern

I've got one just like that. I've seen it referred to as a "concave grind" a "rattler" and "faux frameback." Mine has a rather squarish profile if you look at the blade end on (from the toe to the tang), so I call it a "hammerhead."
Mine is a Joseph Elliot's Best Silver Steel; who made yours?

It's an "XLALL"
Here's a picture of it's stamping:
