Are ou referring to the ones with "For Barber's Use" on the tang? If so, some are wedges, some have been reground to (various levels of) hollow. I'm not sure about the ones that have the etching on the blade, because I've never seen one in person (and mine isn't here yet...), but I'd guess those are anoud half hollow or so.
I'm not sure why, but I find Sheffield blades to be very smooth and very forgiving. With larger and thicker blades, I find they become even smoother and more forgiving.
