Thanked: 335Current Friodur Sources
Does anyone have information on where one can buy the new production Henckels Fridodur razors? The Zwilling.com site has been absolutely useless for me and while that may be a personal problem, any other information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing that you tracked them down as far as this page?
Have you tried contacting them? I'd be interested to see how the pricing is.

Thanks for the link, Ben. Ooooh, they have some nice looking roundpoint Inox razors they're making. I agree, Bruce, the site is difficult to useless. You get better luck navigating if you stay in the British translation rather than USA.
I also would like to know pricing.

I'm not sure these are produced anymore. My understanding is that Henckels tried it several years ago and were selling them in places like epxensive dpt. stores, but then they discontinued it. They were many times more expensive than the Dovos at that time, and I don't think they were selling much.
Of course now that the Dovo has gone up in price the friodurs look a lot more attractive, so perhaps there's an old stock somewhere.

As far as i've got to date, they seem to be easily available only to our lucky German members. The lady that has been dealing with my enquiry has been as helpful as she can be, but now referred me to Henckels in Germany, where they are dealing with my enquiry.
If you are in Germany, you can buy them here.
They will NOT deal with orders from outside Germany though.
Not cheap, but then have you seen the price of Dovo's over there? Extortionate!

They also have a shhop in Barcelona (which I actually saw from the outside a couple of weeks ago, but was in a hurry and thought they will not have any straight razors anyway), but even with a 16% of VAT instead of the 19% in Germany the prices are higher, and I do not even know if they sell outside Spain (do not even now if the ship to Canary Islands, and this is a part of spain...)....

Anyway, I have to say I have a vintage Friodur and get really nice shaves from it, seems that it is more difficult to get cut than with my other Solingen Carbon Steel from Rasurpur....a 7/8 Friodur is next in my list, that is for sure.
