    Default Help with Friodurs

Hey, I know this is less than Kosher, btu I am looking to buy a Friodur but don't want to over pay. Can someone who knows a lot about Friodur market values PM about a 5/8s NOS? I have an opportunity to buy one but think it is overpriced. I am genuinely interested in buying one, see here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...tml#post443299, not plugging something to sell next week. I need an SS shaver and this opportunity came up so I want to know if its fair or not, but have not been watchign Friodur prices much so I need help. Thanks! I know this is less than kosher, but I am really looking for help, not a price for my own item to sell, and I'm asking for PMs please, please don't post here. Mods- if you feel this is wrong please take it down I mean no offense by it. I will trust your judgement.

Edit: I know price is dependent on what individuals are willing to pay, but I am cheap, so the cheapest possible is best. So I would like to know whether this is a good deal- buy it, so so- maybe wait, or a rip off- definitely wait. Thanks!

one thing for sure - there'll always be a cheaper one later. it depends how badly you want it and if you are happy with the asking price.
for me few other factors are also rather important, but that's about how it goes. you already know that razors out of production don't have a set price and the only way to pay less is to wait for another opportunity with a lower asking price...

Depending on your budget and whatever may be deemed 'Too high a price' I recommend you eliminate Ebay and see John Crowley. He has some very nice razors, Friodurs included.

5/8 Friodurs are available new but are quite pricey. They turn up on ebay as well, some say the vintage ones are even better.

Check out this German ebay seller.
    http://myworld.ebay.de/smoothestdeal/
He sells 7/8 Friodurs in new condition. I bought one, lended it, and the guy I lended it to was dying to buy it, so I bought another one, lended it out once again to another friend, and also he asked where he could buy one after one shave with it. So I bought a third one and this one I'm not lending out.
They're amazing shavers, and the price is very sweet, imho.

I was told these razors were recently grind in Germany from an old stock of vintage blanks, with assistance of a retired razormaker, on machines that are over 80 years old.
