I grind those kind of dings out all the time. But then you do have to re-hone them.....hahahahahaha.
Like Sham says, you will loose a little steel in the process.

The one I had was way worse and up further than the bevel. I would have thought that tempered steel like that of a full hollow would break out before it would warp/bend like that.
what do you mean by grind them out, lynn? i'm a newbie and i just got the 4k/8k norton stone that you recommend in your video. should i just use that? what process would you recommend as far as number of strokes etc? thanks for all the help so far guys
Breadknife out and a rehone?
Before anything take a butcher's steel and straighten the bend
then reset the bevel and hone it.
You won't lose any steel worth mentioning.
If you don't have a steel, use a car window.
If it's chip you will lose only the size of the chip.
