Thiers Issard new razor problem
So I need one more advice from members here....the razor that I have receive yesterday Thiers Issard Historic Flying Tudor Rose, Snakewood have a problem. When I open razor the tang touch inner part of the scales (it not pass centered between scales) also when I close razor the blade do not stay in the center of the scales, also tip of the blade pass maybe 1 mm near the scale.
Anybody have the same problem, is the problem in pivot pin or is the shank maybe warped...I just can see that shank do not stay flat between scales, there is some angle and that angle cause the problem.
How can I solve the problem? I have to say that I buy razor new from vendor in USA and I am living miles from USA, so for me is big problem for return it back especially when I must pay taxes again when I receive new one from vendor.
Thiers-Issard new razor problem
Gentlemen,
I, too, had several problems with this same model razor. A tiny, almost microscopic, crack on one side on the scales extended from the butt pin to the tip. The spacing in the butt lacked precision. Also, the razor was not straight.
I returned it unused for an exchange and the vendor sent me a replacement. The pivot pins in the replacement are not as tight as they should be, causing a slight and silent click while closing the razor. I'll tolerate that, because this is too gorgeous a razor.
I think one of you gentlemen mentioned that some of these razors are prone to fitting problems.
Either way, I suggest sending it for a replacement, since this is a pricey razor.
Regards,
Obie
