I'll buy some if someone does a bulk purchase.
I would be up for 10 or so of the cheapies, or 5'ish of the 5 dollar ones.
Here is the thread for the group buy, since no one seems to have coordinates it yet, I made a thread for you guys. http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...tml#post333568
I would suggest to simply purchase a real Double Arrow from Stamps222 for $9.50 a pop. Go ahead and buy 2 or 3. Be realistic, you guys would pay that much ($20-30) for a tarnished, perhaps chipped old Boker/Torrey on the Bay, why not drop it on 3 brand new razors that only need to be honed to be used? (OK, a re-scale may be needed as well....)
As I said on a different post: $9.50 a razor is about the cost of the latest Gillette replacement cartridges, so buy a pack of DAs, and after they go dull, toss it out and start with the next one!
The amount of hassle to get one of these razors for $2 a piece as oppsed to $9.50 a piece...is it really worth it?
What can I say, I am impatient
Do you know which ones stamps sells? I am guessing the cheap ones, given the plastic scales.
neither one of the links in the original thread seems to work, but I'm in for maybe a dozen razors or so. maybe more, but i'll need to see the link first.
I purchased a GD from Seraphim which I received last week. The workmanship on the scales and modification of the blade are top rate. I figured, because of its reputation, that this would be a high maintenance str8 but it is not. I've shaved three times with it, stropped after the 2nd and 3rd time, and it actually feels sharper than after its first use.
In addition to the above, I love the feel of this str8. IMO, it has great balance and weight, substantial but not cumbersome.
Highly recommended.
Thank you Craig!
Pictures or it doesn't exist. LOL
Yes, Sera does some fine work. I always enjoy looking at his razors.
