I walked away from the mother load...
The larger towns in my area are pretty much picked clean of decent razors, so on a whim I went to a small town where I knew I might make a score. When I arrived I didn't see anything but after asking the owner produced the motherload of razors. They were all responsibly owned, not a speck of rust on any of them and the scales were all either in perfect near NOS condition and most were of exotic scale materials. One thing of interest was a group of four of seven matching razors in near NOS condition...even the pivots were as tight as a brand new Dovo. To top it all off, the most expensive razor was $25.
The trouble I had was that they were all, without exception, 5/8 spike points. I've already GOT a spike point and it doesn't see much use as I prefer my barber notch razors. I resisted my desire to give a family to a bunch of these orphans and actually walked away from the store.
What would you have done? I've been thinking more and more about these guys but don't want to wind up with a bunch of razors that don't see much use.
Oh...and if you think I'm going to tell anybody where my motherload is, you're nuts! ";"
