I walked away from the mother load...
The larger towns in my area are pretty much picked clean of decent razors, so on a whim I went to a small town where I knew I might make a score. When I arrived I didn't see anything but after asking the owner produced the motherload of razors. They were all responsibly owned, not a speck of rust on any of them and the scales were all either in perfect near NOS condition and most were of exotic scale materials. One thing of interest was a group of four of seven matching razors in near NOS condition...even the pivots were as tight as a brand new Dovo. To top it all off, the most expensive razor was $25.
The trouble I had was that they were all, without exception, 5/8 spike points. I've already GOT a spike point and it doesn't see much use as I prefer my barber notch razors. I resisted my desire to give a family to a bunch of these orphans and actually walked away from the store.
What would you have done? I've been thinking more and more about these guys but don't want to wind up with a bunch of razors that don't see much use.
Oh...and if you think I'm going to tell anybody where my motherload is, you're nuts!

No joke! I love 5/8!
I respectfully request that you return and purchase some. I don't care where your store is as long as you spread the wealth.

Yeah, your mission, if you choose to accept it...... if you have the disposable income you should get all of the pieces that are good and then post photos and allow interested members to PM and pick them up. Or just put them in the classifieds either as is or if you're into it honed to shave ready. It would be a real service to the SRP community's RAD.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Alternately, see if the guy will let you take pictures. Number the razors in the pictures. Post. Accept PMs for orders, then when paid pick them up.
Just a thought.

Never leave a good razor at a fair price behind! Never! You will always be able to find them a home.

Yeah. Leave no razor behind.
Or let the SRP doctors work on you to see if they can create a vaccine for RAD - you obviously are immune

alright...alright...
I've begun 'agressive negotiations' with the wife so I'll see what I can do for you guys. Of course, there would be a moderate markup as I have to cover my gas and shipping costs...
Besides, even if there were a cure for RAD, would you have the injection? Anyone...anyone? Bueller? Bueller?Last edited by red96ta; 11-07-2009 at 04:45 PM.
