Must be a bidding war between two stubborn people.I love being the seller when that happens. It's restored, but not original.Me being a traditionalist,I don't like the extra pinwheels and microfasteners, but I'm sure there are plenty of folks who do.
+1 to aroliver
Happy for the seller, but DANG! Sorry, but there are much better razors you could get for a LOT less money...couple of collectors that are insane, more than likely :)
That's sickening. I love that razor in terms of the model because I had one that gave an out of this world shave, in fact I sold it to a new guy for that reason.
I saw that too. I need one for my Duck Collection, but it's not original, and too rich for my blood. Whoever it is, They only have 5 ebay purchases, which makes me think, he's relatively new, and has money to burn....
I sold one identical to that razor 6 or 7 years ago on E-bay and I was pleased to get $87.00 out of it and it was just minty. I was fairly new to straight razor shaving at the time and the thing was so sharp it terrified me...I sold it before it hurt me. Oh well, I could go on and on about what a dummy I am.
Sigh... a fool and his money are soon parted.
Jeebus, the pinning on that is HORRIBLE! Look at the wedge-end photo! Misaligned, loose, yuck yuck YUCK!
The guy did do a nice job of cleaning it up but my preference would be for a razor in original condition even if it was a bit grungy. One way or the other that one has gone way over what it might be worth by a long shot.
Pet peeve.... I put stuff up for sale on ebay and never get a bidding war. Not razors but cool bikes, parts, pocket knives and what have you. I get one or two bidders competing in minimum increments if at all.
I saw that this morning and thought "WTF?". I'd like to get a duck (or 2 or 3 or..) but really?
I found one item won by some one but very next week the same item agian for oction. how it is possible..
