Thiers-Issard Spartacus Dreadnought???
I guess I'm spending too much time on the computer at work. But I've been browsing and a TI razor caught my eye. Wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it.
Specs:
Thiers-Issard Spartacus, 6/8 carbon 1/2 hollow blade, dreadnought nose, natural bone scales.
Is anyone familier with this razor? How does it shave? How about its balance?
Also who carries it? I have not seen it listed on the major US sites.
Thanks, Jim
Thiers-Issard Spartacus Dreadnought
My dear Jimk,
I also have the Spartacus Thiers-Issard in creamy white bone scales with the dreadnought point you mention. In my estimation it is a magnificent razor in every way, from its beauty to workmanship and shave quality. Thus far, for me, it is the perfect straight razor in my modest razor collection.
I bought my Spartacus from Steve at the Invisible Edge. Steve is a gentleman to deal with and offers quality products with excellent service. He gets my highest recommendation.
I had intended to buy the "Le Canadien" version of it, too, with wood scales, from Rasage Poulin in Canada, but some work assignments fell through and the money ran out. I like this razor that much. I also have a high recommendation for Rasage Poulin. Owner Scott is another gentleman who offers quality and service.
Should you buy this razor in either version? Of course. If I had the money, I would love to have a seven-day set. Ah, well . . .
Regards,
Obie
