    Default Thiers-Issard Spartacus Dreadnought???

I guess I'm spending too much time on the computer at work. But I've been browsing and a TI razor caught my eye. Wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it.

    Specs:
Thiers-Issard Spartacus, 6/8 carbon 1/2 hollow blade, dreadnought nose, natural bone scales.

Is anyone familier with this razor? How does it shave? How about its balance?

Also who carries it? I have not seen it listed on the major US sites.

    Thanks, Jim

Every razor shaves differently depending on how it is honed and the quality of the steel. This razor is made of good steel as is anything comming out of the UK, France, Sweden. the U.S. or Germany. As for other information - you just told US.

Oh! I suppose I should have pointed out that I am looking for information that I don't already have!

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

where did you find the razor, if it was a vendor's website that'll be the place to purchase it too.
as far as how it shaves i have no idea, i don't think the logo means much these days, TI has been putting the same spartacus logo on all kinds of razors and they've even changed their steel and process completely recently, so the razor you buy will probably shave differently than the one i own.

edit: looks like jimmy has one of the current ones, so that should be helpful

I think I remember reading that the Spartacus logo is for the vendor in the UK. Le Canadian is for the Candian vendor. I could be wrong, can't remember what post it was on.

I just posted a review of that same razor the other day in the review section here. Mine is from a vendor in Germany, Rasurpur.de, it's about $325 w/ shipping. It's the same blade as the "Spartacus" from England, the "Eagle Brand" from Knife Center(theirs only has stamina scales), and finally the same as the "Le Canadien" from Rasage Poulin.

All the vendors mentioned just have the etching of their choice on the blade, but it is the exact same blade. Read my review here for more info.

Thanks for the review. Very good information of the type that I was looking for. The going rate of over $300.00, that left a bruise. Sure is a pretty thing though.

Whats it like dealing with a vendor overseas? Anything that one should be wary of?
