I had no problems. Martin (Rasurpur.de) was great in all respects. It took about a week to get here. As far as the price goes he was the cheapest when you look at all the angles approx. $325 including shipping.

First Rasage wants $350 plus shipping and has the "Le Canadien" logo... I'm not from Canada. Knife Center while only wanting around $240 has the less desirable "Stamina" scales. Now if you like the stamina scales then go for it. I don't mind them myself I just didn't like the "Eagle Brand" logo on the blade. Just made it look cheap in my opinion. And the Spartacus from the UK is anywhere from $300 - $500 plus shipping depending on the scales.

At any rate they are all reputable vendors with a long history of excellent service so you should have no problems. As a note you can also check 1barber as they have this blade as well under the "Buffalo" name but, in my opinion, the gold wash on it looks defective in all the photos of the various blades that have it.

Is anyone familier with this razor? How does it shave? How about its balance?

Also who carries it? I have not seen it listed on the major US sites.

    Thanks, Jim
I have that razor, its outstanding.

Yeah I agree they are great shavers. I love mine. And I gotta' say that the pics of yours are SO MUCH better then the ones that are shown on the UK vendors website.

My computer here at work won't open the pictures that you posted of your razor dang it. They sure had everyone drooling over it. I prefer the Spartacus logo over the other logos that are to be had with this razor, and would prefer either horn or bone. A nice set of horn would look great along side my Bergischer-Lowe, which has a real nice set of horn scales that Jim at Vintage Blades picked out for me.

I need to find something to sell.

The Spartacus logo is nice and the pics on the website just don't do it any justice. Current price is around $350 US with bone scales based on the exchange rate plus shipping. That's as good as your gonna' get anywhere. If your going to get custom scales like you mentioned on your previous straight then the stamina scales in that blade are approx. $275 US.

On the contrary. It was honed to a true professional shave ready level. Very satisfied in all regards with the razor and the service from blueprinciple at the UK site.

Maybe I mislead. The scales on my BL are not custom but are the ones that came on it from the factory. Jim at Vintage Blades asked me if I prefered a color shade of horn since the Bergischer-Lowe can come with a wide range of shading in horn. He then went about picking a razor from my input.

I noticed on this site the only choices in scale material is natural bone or red stamina wood. Yet there has been much mentioned about horn material. Whats up with that?

JimK - You are correct the notched blade is, as I mentioned earlier, either bone or stamina. The horn comes in a round-nose blade.
