I agree but see it the other way around, the 2 pins and easier inlay, would decrease production costs, which is the other reason I would guess newer... all in the way you look at it I guess :)
And a damn fine razor either way...

yeah, I didn't know what to think when I first layed eyes on it in the antique shop. The price was right too!
That's a great looking find, I'm keeping my eyes open for an Otto. Congrats on yours, only one I've seen like it.
Is it just the picture or is there a bit of frown to the blade?
It actually has a slight taper, hardly even noticeable on a measuring stick. I can tell by the hone wear though. The frown is the lighting and the sanding I did in the pic. I noticed that too. Thankyou for looking!
