I bought this Dwarf Duck on eBay, and the blade has a bit of a frown and some chips near the heel:
Yfrog - 00005s
Is this worth fixing? Who does this kind of work, and what kind of $$$ is it likely to run?

Just IMO from the limited view it is certainly worth honing. If I had gotten it I would take some 0000 wool to the rust with a bit of break free or some other lubricant and maybe some high grit sandpaper following that. I would polish it with Maas or semichrome and a paper towel for a passable finish. Not mirror polished or anything like that. Then I would hone the frown and chips out of it. I personally wouldn't go for a complete restore as that would be more $ than it is worth IMO. Go to member services in the classifieds to see what honing might run.
What he said ^^^ :D
Lots of blade to work with. Go for it!!
This thread is making me happy. I was afraid I had been really stupid, buying that off of eBay. It may still not be as good a deal as the other two I bought, but apparently not too bad, even with the honing estimate I just got in a PM.
Hmmmm .... where do I see which honers come highly recommended?
Is this something that anyone who does honing can do?
