Lone Ranger
Since I was a kid I was a big fan of the Lone Ranger. I as checking out shaving stuff on Ebay and found an auction where they were selling the straight razor which supposedly belonged to John Hart. Won the auction and was wondering if there is any information on the razor. I'm NOT going to shave with it, but place it into a shadow box. Any thoughts would be great.

They have been selling these John Hart owned razors on eBay for, at least, a year now. There are two others listed on eBay at the moment. And I see in the completed sales that three others have been sold in the past week. It's strange that they use a canceled check in the description photos of the razors. One check appears to be a policy payment to an insurance company.
Generally these razors are in mismatched coffins and very little information is given about the razor in the description. The rest is devoted John Hart, who only played the Lone Ranger for one season when Clayton Moore was in a contract dispute.

I remember the original offering on eBay for these razors; they were all together in one lot of 3 I believe, which I failed to win by a small margin. It was interesting to see them turn up one by one over the past year or so-don't think the original buyer was totally happy with them. FWIW-the documentation in the original offering convinced me they were genuine, but you never know. These razors were NOT outright frauds like the so called Jesse James razor, which turns up occasionally on eBay.

John Hart collected alot of western memorabilia and these razors are some of them. They have nothing to do with the Lone Ranger. The guy selling the stuff has been selling all this stuff over the last couple of years at least. The razors I've seen didn't look all that hot. He was selling some "silver" bullets too.

I've seen those razors on the bay too. If I'm not mistaken JoeD bought one, but he bought it for the razor, not because of who owned it. Like with everything, different people attach different values for different reasons. I too would not add value because Hart owned it in the past.
