Thread: Damascene razor

I found this full 13/16 blade in an antique shop today. It says "DAMASCENE" on the tang and "SET READY FOR USE" stamped on the front side of the hollow. On the back side of the tang we have "C. KLAUBERG & BROS. 173 WILLIAMS ST. N. Y. And on the back side of the monkeytail is stamped the word "ENGLAND"

Has anyone ever heard of DAMASCENE ? The razor is in almost pristene shape but the scales sort of show their age. This is the nicest of the 14 razors I bought today.

WHY did I buy 14 razors today ???!!!
