    Default W&B with engraved scales

I recently came across a WB at a antique shop that had large engraved writing across the entire scale. It was a "fine India steel" type from what I remember and across the scales said "the celebrated..." something, I forget if it said hollow or razor. Anyways, I saw a similar on eBay last week but have never seen any others. Just wondering of this was common, rare, or something maybe added later on after it was made. Also, was it specifically on the fine India steel models? I Like it either way and would have bought it but the guy wanted $500cdn, saying "W&Bs are the best ever made, and haven't been made for 30years. You won't find one for less than this anywhere, and if you do call me!". I told him he'd find hundreds on eBay, said he would never sell it for even half of that and he should do some more research on when they were made before talking about them. Something tells me if he knew they hadn't been made for alot longer than that he would have added a zero to the price. He was pretty rude also, whichbis why I said what I said instead of just walking away.

I got one with "The Celebrated Chinese Razor" engraved in the scales and phony Chinese characters etched into the belly of the blade. I've seen a lot of different blurbs engraved or pressed into W&Bs, Wostys and other Sheffield razor scales. Good that the vendor has such a valuable and rare razor. It will make him happy as long as he lives because he'll never find a buyer.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
