You lucky dog!
I have a 50 1/2 and it is the best performer (after Lynn honed it) in my modest collection . Bought it new years ago for about $80. I wish I had a bag of those little Friodurs.

Having owned 2 stainless Friodurs and many Henckels carbon steel razors, I prefer the shave from their carbon steel models. They feel smoother to my face, at least. They do need to be honed more often. I think you are going to get a super shave once you honed up your nice find! Words I look for on German stainless razors to identify them as stainless are Rostfrei, Inox, Fleckenfrei, Eishartung (my stainless PAX razor is so marked) and of course the trademark Friodur of Henckels. If I have erred in my German words, I am certain that I will be corrected!
I couldnt help myself so I went back to the shop for this Boker, the handle smells a bit funky and the blade looks well used but not to bad. So today I honed all my razors and I have to say this mofo shaved like a champ. I would love to try a new one out someday. This one was only $15. I have to say Ive never looked forward to shaving everyday.

Oh man..........now he comes up with a nice Boker! Ok, no more Mr. Nice Guy. I wanna know the address of that antique store or else! What are the scales made out of, it is hard to see if they are dirty celluloid, dirty bakelite, or dirty horn? I would start cleaning them with wet fine grade steel wool, then proceed to something like Mothers Billet metal polish, which does a very nice job of cleaning and polishing any kind of scales, and a little Turtle wax lightly rubbed in outside and inside the scales will take care of the funky smell for good and leave a waterproof shine. Pipe cleaners help with cleaning the inside of the scales. Thanks for sharing your success!
I'll share, its in Joliet Illinois and is called unique antiques, they do have some other ones as well I just dont remember their names along with safety razors and the wierd silver rolling sharpening things as well. There was a nice one with a tortise looking handle they wanted $50 for.Just in case your in the area. Some of the color came off of the handle when I scrubbed it so whatever it is its slightly deteriorated and what I would guess it smells like burnt wet dog fur.
