Default New here and have a question

Hello I'm new here and I'm also a beginner. I have a question for you all. I know that buying second razor is not the most encouraged thing for a beginner but these are on my local craigslist. 2 Straight Razors Made in Germany
I know there is rust on it, but it's not on the actual edge of the blade itself. I have some more close ups of them if someone needs them. So my question is should I or shouldn't I get them? Miller & Co detroit and the other says Von Cleff & Co. Is there anyway that the rust can be taken off? Thanks.

You should grab em quick if the price is right. Don't pay more than $15 to $20 each. From the pictures they look pretty decent. The rust looks to be surface rust from these pictures.

Ok, it looks like you can get them both for $25. Cool. Make an offer.

if you buy cleanup and honing your already at 85 atleast so its not that much of a bargain
but if your prepared for a few nights sanding polishing and got a friend to help with honing
    why not

Ok thanks. Are the brands good, or have you even heard of them?

In my opinion, if it's vintage, if it isn't deeply rusted (and "yours" are not) it will shave and shave well. As far as quality, assuming the scales are intact as they look, I would have have no doubt they are quality razors.

Most vintage razors have names and identification information on them that is largely unfamiliar to most of us. Whether anyone here has heard of the razor, to me, isn't too important.

Now, if you want them for their collectability, that's a different story.

Thanks Larry. That makes sense. I'm going to pick them up tomorrow. I'm quite excited.

They could be good shavers with a little cleaning and a good
honing... they are as good as you will find on Ebray for that
    price IMO.

The angles are bad, but look OK. Remember that most likely they need to be honed before they can shave. Generally vintage razors are fine, but the risk is entirely yours. If you intend to pay somebody to hone them for you usually a much better option is to get something that is fixed, tested and ready to go.
