Ladies and gentlemen:
I have special fondness for the Dovo "Perlex." It's a handsome razor, well balanced, well made, and a good shaver. For what it's worth, therefore, I would choose the "perlex."

One thing to note is that the Pearlex comes in a stainless steel version as well. The stainless steel Pearlex does not have as much gold wash on it, which I think is a plus. Let us know what you get and how you like it :).
I dont own a Perlex, but I do have an Ivory Mircarta and LOVE it. Wicked sharp blade with no flex. It's my travel buddy. A Damn fine shaver IMO.
I've got a couple of DOVO's and I've seen probably 50-60 of them in the flesh, and they're all well made and look good. Mine are great shavers as well!
All I can suggest is go with the one that catches your eye!
Good luck and keep us posted!
Thanks guys for all your help. I ended up finding a nice straight for sale on B&B. I will end up buying one of the Dovo's in time but for now I willuse the Three Kings. Has any of you heard of this particular razor?

I prefer the Pearlex because of the thinner/lighter scales. I just prefer the way she feels in my hand and the way she balances. I do have sort of small hands, though, so that could be a factor.
To me, the Micarta is a beatyfull razor, and I had to have it. The grain in the wood, macthing the pattern in the metal is very very nice.
The blade shaves like a charm, the bevel is easy to set and gets very smoothe and sharp.
BUT - the scales are crap. Yes I use the word crap, because I think it is addiquit. Not crap in quality, but in use. They are way to thick and very slippery and provide an extremely bad grip for me personally.
I took of the scales, and threw them away. Then I bought a set of perlex scales and made the "Miclex":
Now that is an outstanding razor!

The only thing I don't like about the Micarta & also Damascus blades is the sensation of the "textured" steel against my skin. Not a deal killer but maybe a consideration for some.
Is the micarta blade made from a mixture of metal as in "damascus" steel? I thought those blades were the same as the Dovo 41's.
