    Default "FAME" Mother-of-Pearl companion razor!

    Hello Everyone,

    Attached are photos of the "Fame" razor. Unlike the "Peace" razor, it is not perfect, with one scale having an ancient repair (done with horse glue) to a hairline fissure near the rear pin. At least it occurs on the side that, in this case, would not normally be displayed. Additionally, being that this type of old glue is water soluble, a more expert (and perhaps nearly imperceptible) professional repair might be easily accomplished.

    When I acquired these razors, my expectation was that they would both be fully researchable "known quantities" with indexed book listings and traceable auction records. However, this does not seem to be the case, based on the knowledge, thoughts, and observations many of you have been kind enough to share. So I guess I've no choice except to learn how to properly use them to shave!

    That sure is a beautiful set of razors you have there Jim. They belong in a museum somewhere.

    Too bad about the crack in the scale on this one.

    I would be hesitant to use them as shavers... I have a mother of pearl razor that is not nearly the quality of yours, and I am still debating with myself as to whether I should use it as a shaver.

    That one rivals the other in beauty which I figured it would. If they were mine they would be in a glass display coated with Renaissance Wax and never see water. Thanks for posting the additional photos.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    I think a protective glass case would be perfect for that razor.
    On the other hand I would derive great pleasure from using it.
