Default 7th National Shaving Collectibles Meeting

    Fellow Collectors.

Just a Reminder!! A little over 2 weeks remain to take advantage of the special registration fee for the 7th National Shaving Collectibles meeting being held in West Chester, Ohio, on October 23-24.

The fee, until July 31, is $54 for individual registration. Spouses are always welcome and encouraged to attend at a fee of $20. After July 31, the fee is $69.

This year's meeting promises to be one of the best with many collectors attending, great shaving items on display and for sale, scintillating talks, and, of course, informal discussions with those who understand your lust for collecting shaving memorabilia and your pursuit of rare and elusive finds.

Information and registration form for the meeting may be found at:

    Shaving Collectibles Extravaganza

For more information, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I hope to see you at the meeting.

    Regards,

    Jerry

West Chester, OH? Seriously? That's about 10 minutes from my house in Springdale. Sweet.

I shall have to ensure my schedule is clear and then register myself to attend.

Lucky I live in Australia. My head would explode if I went to something like that.

I'm glad it is not in Bangkok. My bank account, and my wife, couldn't take the shock.

I really believe that we actually are the responsible parties for the pricing of good vintage shaving gear going up. It has been doing this for 10 years based on our increasing population and demand or appetite for the holy grails of straight razor shaving.

I have been to this get together for the past couple years, although I will probably not be able to make it this year. This gathering is a great one and the people there are most knowledgeable. Jerry and all the guys are strong advocates of wet shaving and if you get the chance to attend, you will not regret it.

    Have fun,

    Lynn

Will you have some gear for sale their. I may be inclined to make the drive and take a long weekend with the warden. Our youngest is off to college this year so we have an opportunity (empty nest) to do some travel.

So...I have a question. Are these the people who raise the prices of shaving gear only to stare at it? I'm not trying to insult, but if a user of vintage product goes into a den of purely collectors will they hide the good shavers and raise the prices on the junk or are they cool about those of us who utilize the many thousands of vintage razors instead of acting like they are one of a kind. Which brings the question of how the prices are. I only ask because summer quarter is almost over and that's a long way to travel for something, although I have been wanting to go on a long trip.

If you mean eBay..then yes poor quality most of the time and looks fine to the newbie..but garbage to the experienced ones here
(not always a bad thing)...the classifieds here has some amazing blades and prices.."let yer face do the selecting"
