That is an awful shame to say the least. I hope the latter did not happen. It's a horrible thing to imagine that a fellow hobbyist would ever do such a thing.
Wow. This is a true dissapointment for all. i remember the original thread was started shortly before i started shaving with a straight, and i thought it was the greatest that someone could willingly trust near starngers with something that must have had personal value as a restoration. That thread was also the first time i ever saw a kamisori and i was hooked. I now have several and I love them dearly, it is truely a shame that someone (hopefully the post office) ruined many peoples chances of using such a unique item.
I would also like to say thank you to Mr. Big Spendur for showing this great generosity even though i was not involved and had no intention of being on the list. +1 for you!
:( Thats a PITA!
Hopefully its a case of it being lost in the mail rather than someone keeping it. If someone kept it the curse will surely claim them..!
I'm so sorry to hear this. Back in May I sent a razor for honing to someone and never heard from them again, despite numerous, various attempts to contact them. It's such a raw, dirty feeling just to know someone exploited us, betrayed our trust.
I do hope you ultimately have a good resolution on this problem.
When I first joined, the Kamisori pass around thread was one of the first threads I read from tip to toe... it really made me happy to see a community formed online that could work together to make such sharing possible.
I certainly hope that the loss of the razor was due to carrier error and may, with luck, show up unexpectedly in a few weeks/months...
If a member took advantage of a situation and has pocketed the razor... well, lets just say that I'm a well-wisher in that I don't wish any *specific* harm to befall them.
