I found three razors. The first an extra hollow from the mysterious Manhattan Razor Co. That one being in the best shape, I went ahead and bought it for $25. There are a few pics of it in the Workshop.
Another is, as indicated by the tang, a Shumate Peacemaker. It was in a Tonso box, though. Does that happen often? It had plastic bamboo scales, lots of rough scuff marks, and a tip so mutilated it looked like some kind of gimp barber's notch or Spanish.
The third really intrigues me. It's wide wedge in a Wade & Badger box. Says Tillotson Sheffielt on the tang, though. That would make it quite old, wouldn't it? However, the scales are a translucent green/yellow plastic with imprints of an eagle w/shield, oak vines, and a house at the bottom. It also has kanji egraved/carved into the blade near the spine. 東?行 Couldn't make out the second one. It also has a 1mm chip in the edge. The blade's so wide, though I'm not afraid of honing the chip away. Idk if it's worth much, objectively, but I sure could use a wedge to contrast all the hollows I seem to be finding. I'd also love just to have one so old.
Thoughts?
