I can only speak of what I have shaved with ant it would take too much time to select the absolute 7 + 3 from the stable so I'll just post what comes to mind first.

    In no particular order:
    Gaines
    Friodur
    Hess
    Wonderedge
    Puma
    Geneva
    Wostenholm
    Thistle Cut
    Clauss
    Bartmen
I'll have to close my eyes to pick the last one. LOL

Ask me again tomorrow and the list will change.

How about that 7/8 or is it 8/8 C-Mon Blackie Joe ? That would do for me.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    • Genco Easy Aces
    • Genco Fluid Steel full hollow
    • C-Mon Wedge
    • Reynolds Wedge
    • Lakeside Army and Navy 1/2 to 3/4 hollow?

Those five are the ones constantly in my rotation, for the last 6 months or so.

OK. I'll take a crack at this..

Mon - Livi Takeda Damascus 7/8 w/snakewood scales
    Tues - Chandler Wootz 6/8 w/abalone scales
    Weds - Zowada Damascus 7/8 w/ivory scales
Thurs - Livi Silvano Damascus w/mammoth ivory scales
    Fri - Zowada Damascus 11/16 w/ebony scales
Sat - Livi Bergamo Damascus 7/8 w/abalone scales
Sun - Iwasaki Tamahagane Size 2

    Travel
    - Livi New Grind 6/8 w/snakewood scales
    - Friodur 7/8 w/POS plastic scales
    - Revisor 6/8 w/cocobolo scales

This is probably more like a 14 or 21 day set since I tend to use a razor for 2 or 3 days in a row (except the kamisori).

This is a fun idea. I pick my razors for the week on Sunday and rotate through my razors one a day, for about 3 weeks. If I had to pick 7 for a seven-day set for, say, a long trip like I took in June (3 weeks in Israel) I think I'd take:

Day 1-Dovo Bismarck 6/8, red scales
Day 2-Robeson Shur Edge with orange scales
Day 3-Bismarck "Registered" NOS White Scales
Day 4-Dubl Duck Special #1 First razor that I honed that shaved great, still does!
    Day 5-Solingen "Thursday" engraved razor
    Day 6-Torrey 5/8 White Scales
Day 7-Dovo Best with Tortoise Scales

    3 For Short trips:
    Dovo Best Black 6/8
    Dovo Best Blonde
Boker Baby-I always like to have a small straight, this one purchased from holli4pirating is a jewel!

Seeing I only save every other day I would only need 3 razors for a 7 day set.

    Joseph Holler 6/8
    Herder 6/8 full wedge
    Un-named Sheffield 6/8 full wedge

travel: since I carry on most of my items this will have to be a DE razor handle so I can pick up blades where ever I go to.

This is actually my current setup too as I have started to take a minimalist approach to everything in my life to clear out the clutter in my home and life.

I know this subject is trivial compared to all the major issues we face today, but it's Sunday and I have a big pot of glorious spaghetti sauce slowly awakening on the stove. So while I await its gala entrance later this afternoon, I thought I tease my mind with my sweet obsession — the straight razor.

Most of my modest collection of razors is new, except for a few vintage razors.

So once again, if you were to trim your razor collection into a 7-day set plus three additional razors for travel, what would be your choices? If you are just starting out and plan to increase your collection, please give me what you have and what you would like to have.

Here is mine from my modest collection:

Sunday: Thiers-Issard "Dos Festonne" 6/8"-7/8" dreadnought with white bone scales.

Monday: Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple 6/8" square point with original gray plastic scales.

Tuesday: Thiers-Issard Le Grelot 6/8" round point, 1/4 hollow with thumb notch and black plastic scales.

Wednesday: Thiers-Issard Le Grelot 6/8" round point, 3/4 hollow with white plastic scales.

Thursday: Thiers-Issard 5/8" round point with black bone scales.

Friday: Thiers-Issard 5/8" round point with snakewood scales.

Saturday: Wacker 1st Edition Sheffield 6/8" with dreadnought point and black bone scales.

    Travel razors:

    1. Thiers-Issard 5/8" round point with kingwood scales.

    2. George Wostenholm 4/8" Spanish point with plastic scales.

    3. Heljestrand MK 5/8" square point Swedish steel and white plastic scales.

If you would rather forget all this and watch a football game, that certainly makes more sense to me. Many thanks.

    Regards,
    Obie
    Dear Obie,

I would not let your family see this list. I believe you would like to modify it to include a certain Dovo Bismark with white bone scales that was gifted to you and has extreme sentimental value.

    I have your back.

    Your friend,
    David
