Thread: Need help identifying this antique razor

Sorry no pics, if no one can help me id the razor maybe i can obtain some from my grandpa, he currently owns the razor. This razor is a family heirloom, my great great uncle got during WWI and passed to his son who carried it in WWII. I'm not sure where he got it and cant find much info on the brand. The blade is heavy, and large! its worn pretty thin from years of use and was rusted slightly when we found in in my grandfathers dresser. anyways, after removing rust we found some inscriptions on the tang where most of the brand names are. the brand seems to be somthing called "el cantado"??? has anyone ever heard of this before?

sorry guys it appears the brand is actually "el candado" not cantado. That translates as the lock in english. Not sure if it matters tho.

I thought "el cantado" means The singing or the song.

it does, but the actual spelling on the blade is "candado" i misspelled it as "cantado" haha very similar tho. Also i promise i will post some pics tonight, i just have to get them, so hopefully that will help. as far as i can tell it seems pretty rare.
