Any other singing razor than Prima Klang in the market?
Hi gents,
I'm in the market for a new straight razor. I know what I want pretty well so I won't annoy you with questions like "which Dovo should I buy?". I want a blade with 5/8 width and I want it pretty hollow ground, also known as singing one.
I have a 6/8 Dovo Special and I really like the steel they use, it takes great edge and the razor itself has a great balance, I like using it a lot. Few weeks ago I got a vintage Le Grelot blade and it's a very finely ground, the blade sings for a few seconds when plucked and the shaves are really, really comfortable. So that's how I came to conclusion I want to have 5/8 singing razor.
But the question is which? I know that only singing razor Dovo makes is Prima Klang. And what I would like to ask you, gentlemans, is: Do you know about any other singing razor which is made nowadays? I know that Thiers Issard razor are marked as singing but is little bit stiffer. What about Wäcker, Revisor or Boker? How "fine" are they ground? I will be very grateful for your answers and insights!
