Razor apraisal

Anyone know these razors or any opinions about value (restoration and use value that is)

I have been shaving for 4-6 years with the thin one, trying to maintain an edge with butchered parts from a 'rolls' razor sharpener heavy honing wear might have been helped a bit by my oafish sharpening but was mostly as I got it. the broad blade one I disassembled and in process of sanding (100grit so far but worried about continuing until all pitting is out as it is full hollow ground[if that is a term] and don't want the blade to be too thin... the crack was me...

To answer your question very broadly any razor that can be made to shave is of value. The degree of restoration is totally personal.

oh.. i'm sorry.. i must have flash read that or something.. as for an answer to your question then.. please upload a photo and i'm sure someone will chime in as to if it can be made shave worthy or not.

SRP is performing some system upgrades and working through the change. Please be patient as the Developers address some issues. I'm sure you will be able to upload your pictures in the near future.

As far as the usage value of your razors, or any razor for that matter, the value is that of the end user and the quality of edge honed on the blade. I have many really plain Jane razors that give outstanding shaves. Lots of us search for specific razors and pay some heavy change for some of them. The value of these razors goes beyond the shave quality of the blade. While I find it appealing to have some of these highly sought after razors I am really pleased with my plain Janes and the shaves I get with them, which in the end is where the rubber meets the road. Good luck with your razors. If you are looking for the next level in these razors you may consider using finer hones, pastes , diamond spray or even Barber's hones. When I started straight shaving the last hone I used was an 8k Norton and I was very pleased with the results. When I finally working into finer hones I was surprised as to how much better the razors felt. If you are content with your razors no need to go to finer grits unless you are curious. No, it should be me to apologies... the title for the thread had the word appraisal in it, sorry, I have changed it.

As long as there is no rust on the edge and no chips or cracks it should be restorable.
