Thread: even more Beginners luck?

Found some razors at a good price what do you guys think, 3 Bokers 2 W&B and one geo savage. i would like to clean them up what do you guys tend to use to clean corrosion and years of build up crud. i was thinking of flitz but am affraid it would damage the one W&B.

don't soak the m in bleach too long if you go that route, the blades will turn black

You've got some nice ones there..especially that savage..I've been looking for one of those lately. Congrats.
Those should clean up nice. You can just use a simple metal polish like Maas or for myself I use Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. Be sure and post em again after you've got them cleaned up

Great find! I use Flitz polish and it works as good as the Maas or Mothers mag polish. It will take quite a bit of elbow grease to remove the surface corrosion. I am a big fan of W&B straights. They take a very good keen edge and shave like a dream. All are worthwhile investments. Keep us posted on your progress. Also, welcome to SRP.

good call on the mag cleaner, i just tried it, works well

Very nice snag! They should all clean up nice. I recently tried Mothers Mag on some of blades and was amazed how well it works. The Bokers will give you a very nice shave as will the Wade & Butchers, you'll enjoy all of them I'm sure.

started cleaning the razors i think im done with the blade on the WB this is what i got

well w&b are a dime a dozen, the savage on the other hand...
now that you've practiced with the w&b may be you should tackle that one.
and btw bleach shouldn't even appear on these forums, that's not something you want in contact with steel, good ole mechanical abrasion with sandpaper is what you want to do.
