Wild Inspection razor question
hey my favorite people in the world (straight razor users)
Well I got an itch really really bad I love my razor but it needs a friend or cuzz it needs another razor. Due to car I am not able to go looking around so I have to use the ol internet.
Anyway, I came across
a razor "Wild Inspection" the razor is in good condition and the seller sent me some close up as well. I tried looking up Wild Inspection razor but didn't get any where. The seller is asking 25 ehue. I also pics if ya'll need to see it.
So does anyone have experience with this razor?
Also, what should I look into as far how old and stuff?
Anyone own and how does it shave?
Does anyone know what country it's from?

If you could post some pics that would certainly help identifying the age of the razor, and might also reveal more.

After a cursory search. I came up with the Clauss Cutlery Company in Fremont, OH.

Looks like it is at least pre-1945 but there's no mention in the article about the razors produced. Again, it was just a cursory look.

The Clauss razors are excellent shavers. In fact, I shaved with one this morning and it was one of my smoothest shaves ever.

Two Clauss, Fremont, Ohio references in Standard Guide to Razors: Clauss; Fremont, 1878- and Clauss Henrie; 1917-1920. To me, that looks like a nice razor.

+1....very first razor I honed up myself and shaves very nicely.

Thanks nice piece of info. So it's a Clauss not a wild inspection?
Or is it part Clauss part wild inspection? Nice shave you say mmm. I notice some scratch marks on it but no rust which is good.
Your first razor for honing how was it?

Clauss is the make, Wild Inspection is the model (assuming the scales are original).

While trying to convince my wife about a razor I'm eyeing, I noticed something that may help. It looks like the scales on your Clauss may not be original after all. Take a look at the description. You'll also see the bear stamped on the blade.
