First buy
Just looking to see if anyone has any info, good or bad about the razors i picked up. The only one i know is the wade and Butcher, but it's nothing fancy. They are in rough shape, but nothing that can't be fixed. I hope to get pictures up soon. Which one would you suggest to work on to get ready for my first shave, or should i wait to get a better one? Thanks everyone!

Once you get pix up, it will be easier to tell what shape your straights are in and how much work/money you may have to invest to get them ready

We love pictures, and reward them with copious comments and advise.
Posts with no pictures, not so much.
And if you are looking to shave, I'd recommend you buy an inexpensive shave ready one from the classifieds here. It'll be quicker and easier, probably cheaper and certainly faster.Last edited by Snake; 02-25-2011 at 10:44 PM. Reason: Forgot to give him advise on the used razor thing.

Whoa, pardner!
Some nice blades over there. I'm by no means an expert, but looks to me most would just need a cleaning and a honing and you should be on your way.
Check out some of the members here that do that kind of work; I don't think any will disappoint you. Personally I had work done on two by GSSIXGUN and could not be happier.

I'm happy to hear this! I plan on restoring them myself, but getting someone to hone them for me until i can learn. There are two other blades i can get, landers frary and clark, and a genco. From what i understand i should pick up the genco, but i don't know about the landers frary and clark. Both of these are in the same shape as the pictures above. What do you think?

You have a broad spectrum of blade states up there... do they look like the first one or the last one?
