Hollow or true flat? Very cool find!!
That grind is one solid hunk of metal. They really are so different to modern hollows. Nice find and in great condition, shame about the missing scales. Im sure you'll find a nice pair for it!
You reckon they're cast steel?

Very cool. How do they shave?
I like the looks of those, Sham! Enjoy them they look very nice, let us know about the steel.
A WONDERFUL set! I really like those!
i am not sure it is cast steel or not. Blades are heavy.
I have seen a few ground like that. They were not flat they have a slight convexity.
After a closer look at the pictures I think the second to last pic may give it away. The tiny pseudo-shoulder makes it look like your right.
There are cast razors (of quality) out there? :dropjaw: In the scissor world cast is synonymous with *%^)@. Most won't even take an edge (not even at 45*) the better ones will, but one drop and *poof* you now have 3 pieces that use to be a shear.
A barber customer of mine had a 7-day set GIVEN to him. He says they are all in their original box, with scales, and no nicks/chips. Didn't know the name though. It's killing me. That, and the fact the was using a NICE Geneva Cutlery 5/8 with a perfect patina and scales as a paper cutter....that's killing me more. :gaah:
Certainly are cast steel razors of quality but not cast in the sense you're thinking. Cast here refers to a crucible method of steel making which even wootz & damascus steel is a variation of.

Wow, very cool set of razors made for what must have been a very prestigious retailer. Absolutely beautiful, and to still have all seven together and in such a good state, a little remarkable too.
Ah, that grind! Listed in my book 'axes of the world' it is the 'logsplitter XH' and was typically retailed by London houses in the early c19th. to those returning to pioneering destinations in the New World. The idea being of course that you didn't need to go and buy an axe at the (not so local) hardware store if yours was lost/broken/stolen by bears - just get one of the razors out and it's logs for winter!:rofl2:
Seriously - very nice. i have a couple of blades like that but a set? I am green with envy. :overkill:
PS the smiley isn't relevant I just liked it!
Right now I have a W&B and a two box set of those
