Default Info on Black Diamond razor?

I was at an Antique shop yesterday looking at vintage fountain pens. Before I left I asked the shop keeper if he had any straight razors, after a few minutes of searching behind his counter he produced 2 boxed. The first was a Boker King Kutter, it was in excellent shape, but it was the second that caught my eye. It was a Black Diamond made by Black Diamond Cutlery NY. And it had never been used! I took the crumbly parchment paper off the shaver myself. there isnt so mach as a swirl mark on the scales and the blade is beautiful. my question is does anyone know anything about the company that made it? Are they good shavers? Did they have a good rep on their products? I havent shaved with it yet, I am new to using a straight razor and want to wait till I am better at it before I use a virgin vintage blade.... I have a feeling you dont get many chances to do that.

There are many Black Diamond Razors out there. I think they were sold by many retailers but whether they were all made by one outfit, I don't know. I have an old Bresnick marked Black diamond but it doesn't reflect that company rather Bresnick, N.Y.
