Thanked: 46BEST NEW RAZORS?
just wondering what the opinions are on New razors from current companies, that is no NOS or MINT stuff. Just brand spanking new out of the factory like dovos and thiers... can't think of any other brands... pumas, revisors and bokers?

I can only speak on my TI, as it's the only new straight i have, but it is absolutely wonderful to shave with.

+1 on the new Dovos. I own two of them and use them both frequently.

Discounting the ones on the do not buy list and similar there are only a handful of quality factory made outfits. Dovo and TI are the largest quality producers. There are few others that have or are trying to reestablish themselves like Boker, Puma, henckels, and a few others. They all appear to be making a quality product.

I would say Hart. I've had a number of new razors and I think the Hart round nose is the best.

I have a new TI, wacker, and Revisor. The Revisor is by far my best shaver. The wacker and TI are excellent too.
EDIT: I should mention...the Revisor was done up in Abalone and honed by Max. They may make a difference in the performance.Last edited by jcsixx; 01-07-2011 at 02:56 AM.

I think that my Hart Steel is an excellent razor if you would like something in between mass production and custom made at a reasonable price.
However, I have to say that of the current production razors I have tried (Dovo, Wacker, Hart, Boker) I think my little Boker Edelweiss is the best shaver. I have not tried the other current production Bokers, but if they are anything like the Edelweiss, my vote goes to Boker.
Note: I have not shaved with a Thiers razor yet.
