Default Geo. Savage & Sons. info.

Hello all. I've question regarding the makers "Geo. Savage & Sons." I was looking on the web and could not find anything about the maker and his sons. Would need some advice on perhaps origin. of the maker or is it a famous maker of past.

Have seen a work of 9/8 razor from the maker and have procured one from ebay recently myself. 9/8 itself got my interested into buying it at a reasonable price. So any past owners or someone familiar with the maker's work plz give me some update/advice.

I believe they were in production for a few years in the 1840's. Pretty typical of razors of that era, in that they are softer, forgiving steel that don't necessarily have the best edge retention or hold wicked edges.
