Another American knock-out!

I got a Robeson a few weeks back. Yesterday, I received a rescaled 6/8 Genco Fluid Steel. The blade was mint with the blueing still in-tact on the tang.

Unbelievable shave! I have a decent selection of great shavers, Filarmonicas, Pumas, Ducks, vintage Dovo, W&B, etc... This razor definitely can run with the best. I am very impressed with this American steel.

Shhhhhhhh!!! Why does everyone feel the need to tell everyone that plenty of American razors are right up there in quality with the big names in razors. Don't you know this will only make Case razors and others the new double ducks? You'll see the price jump four fold in no time. Yes they are great, just keep it to your self please, we don't need everyone going out to buy these gems. By the way Congrats on 100 posts!

Yeah, I am glad they have gone under the radar. The good news is that my opinion does not carry the clout of some of the others on this board, so the prices are still safe.

I have a Geneva, (The first straight I shaved with actually,) and a couple of Torrey razors, one of which is in the middle of a pretty massive recovery effort. The two that are shave ready proform as well as any razor I have, I just prefer the feel of slightly wider blades. And I'm still kicking myself for thinking I could restore that second Torrey without a ***** of elbow grease, Torrey steel is HARD!

I've got a good sampling of American steel in my rotation and they sure do suck! If you have a Robeson, Shumate or Red Imp on hand do the following immediately:
1. Do NOT hone it or attempt to shave with it
2. Send it to me immediately so that I can be sure to protect the straight razor world from these vile obominations

I love my 9/16 and 11/16 Genevas. The Geneva Convention has a different meaning for me. America had some great razor manufacturers.

American blades are the great secret. I have a few Dovos and a Revisor that is outstanding. But I also have a few American vintage blades (whose brand I will not mention, because I love getting them in great condition for ten bucks!) that are just as good. But I will mention my Hart Steel razor, because it's a new production. Hart Steel blades are worth every penny. I love my German blades, and they never let me down, but my Hart is a treat to shave with. So are my other American blades.
