Money Back Razor CO?

Just got a new razor at a antique mall. Does anyone know about this razor? any info would been much appreciated. Also any advice only cleaning it up?

You can't always tell anything by the case since they are often mismatched. Your photos don't show any of the stampings on the tang so it isn't possible to know the actual manufacturer. Also, it appears that about an inch has been removed from the toe of the razor to repair some previous damage.

No offense but I'd take it back and see if they'll do what the box says. It is probably worth more than the razor.

There isn't any markings only the tang. And from examining the toe of they razor it seams to be made that way. I believe if the blade was any longer it wouldnt fit into the scales. I could be wrong.

I think Jimmy's right & so is Walt, the length of the scales look to be disproportional to the blade.

I've never really seen a razor with a toe made that way, maybe a corn razor? I would say it has probably been cut down at some point and used to be a "sway back" of some sort. To be blunt, if I obtained a razor looking like that in a lot buy, etc., I would probably toss the blade and maybe keep the scales.

Depending on what you paid for it, you could round off the point, shorten the scales and use it. Heck, it might just be a great razor?

A little week end fun with a dremel in a workshop might do this razor a little good.... Or not... Worst case scenario it's a learning lesson. If it wee mine I would grind the point either round or spike and make a pair scales for it or shorten the old ones. With some TLC you might have a decent moustache razor.... Always nice to have one o those!

Great idea! Got the razor with a old spice mug. In my mind the razor was free. Just figured I could have some fun in the shop.

I enjoyed reading the coffin/guarantee. Thanks for sharing. It is quite an odd looking razor, but in my eyes the box/coffin is a lot cooler.

I have never seen anything like the blade. That does not mean much, but I would've pretty confidently guessing that someone altered it. A skilled guy could do that such that the machine marks looked factory original, but the toe and proportion look so odd that it is hard to imagine a producer doing it intentionally.
